MESCEL Project at ICMT’30 Conference

The MESCEL project was presented at the ICMT’30 – International Conference on Modern Materials and Technologies, where Mirjam Bajt Leban delivered a talk titled “Electrochemical Demolition: a green and sustainable recovery process for hardmetal scrap.”
The presentation focused on the project’s innovative electrochemical approach to hardmetal scrap recycling, emphasizing its potential to provide environmentally friendly and sustainable recovery solutions for valuable raw materials.
During the session, laboratory results obtained during the first nine months of the EIT Raw Materials MESCEL project were presented, demonstrating promising progress in developing and validating the electrochemical demolition process.
The presentation was co-authored by Gian Pietro De Gaudenzi, Fransisca Pirone, and Sandra Tedeschi from HILAB (OMCD TEKHUB), and Benedetto Bozzini from Politecnico di Milano.
Participation in ICMT’30 offered an excellent opportunity to disseminate early project results, enhance international visibility, and strengthen collaboration within the scientific and industrial communities working towards sustainable hardmetal recycling and the circular economy.
